Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England have no public or media events on their schedules.

Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness David S. C. Chu will discuss the Defense Department’s response to the Independent Review Group’s final report concerning rehabilitative care and administrative processes at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., together with its authors, former Veterans Affairs Secretary and Army Secretary Togo West and former Army Secretary John O. Marsh, May 2, at 3:15 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.   Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.   Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
