EVENTS FOR MAY 4, 2000

The Secretary of Defense is in Washington today. Secretary Cohen and CJCS General Shelton will speak at the Business Executives National Security awards dinner. See press advisory for more details.
The Deputy Secretary of Defense is in Washington today. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

The Department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.

The regular Department of Defense news briefing will be conducted today at 1:30 p.m. in the briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host a visit from the 1999 Major League Soccer champion team, D.C. United at 2:30 p.m. at the Pentagon. This is a photo opportunity. See press advisory for more details
