Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing room, Pentagon 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

The DoD Forum on Asian/Pacific American Affairs is today from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Arlington, Va. Keynote speaker is Lee Mun Wah, a filmmaker, poet and educator. The NATO exercise Adventure Express/Dynamic Response 2001 continues through May 10 in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Albania. See the NATO news release for details.

Secretary of Defense to Host Amir of Bahrain Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host an honor cordon to welcome the Amir of Bahrain Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to the Pentagon at 10 a.m. EDT, Tuesday, May 8, 2001.
