Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey will deliver remarks as the keynote speakers at the Forum on the Law of the Sea Convention at 1:45 p.m. EDT at the Willard Intercontinental Washington Hotel, Washington D.C.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter accompanied by senior DoD and service leaders, will serve as the keynote speaker for the Public Service Recognition Week DoD "Spirit of Service" ceremony and concert at 11:30 a.m. EDT in the Pentagon Center Courtyard. Media interested in covering the event must call 703-697-5131 to attend. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.

British Army Lt. Gen. Adrian Bradshaw, deputy commander, International Security Assistance Force, will brief the media live from Afghanistan at 10 a.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) to provide an update on progress and transition in Afghanistan.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.
