Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld is in Washington today. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz will host an honor cordon today at 2 p.m. to welcome Minister of Defense Ioan Mircea Pascu of Romania to the Pentagon. See the press advisory for details.

Retired Navy Adm. David Jeremiah will conduct a press briefing on the results of the Defense Morale and Quality of Life Study today at 1:30 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. See the press advisory for details.

The Army will conduct a ceremony today at 3 p.m. in the Pentagon center courtyard to promote Maj. Gen. Roger Schultz, director of the Army National Guard, and Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Plewes, chief of the Army Reserve, to lieutenant general. See the Army memorandum for correspondents for details.

SecDef to Host Honor Cordon for Prime Minister of Singapore Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host an honor cordon to welcome Prime Minister Chok Tong Goh, of Singapore, to the Pentagon at 10:30 a.m. EDT, Thursday, June 14, 2001.

The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the River...
