Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld  hosts an honor cordon to welcome Ecuador's Minister of National Defense Oswaldo Jarrin to the Pentagon at 10 a.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon Mall Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 9:30 a.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England will deliver remarks and will receive an award from Armed Forces Foundation  at the Mandarin Hotel, 1330 Maryland Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C.

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense Paul McHale, Chief, National Guard Bureau, Lt. Gen. H Steven Blum  conduct a press briefing on borders operations at El Paso, Texas.  Media contact: Lt. Col. Krenke at (703) 607-5934.

Deputy Director for Regional Operations, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Brig. Gen. National Guard (In Federal Status) and Reserve Mobilized as of June 14, 2006 This week, the Army and Marine Corps announced an increase in the number of reservists on active duty in support of the partial mobilization, while the Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard numbers decreased.   The net collective result is 160 fewer reservists mobilized than last week.
