Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates speaks at the Army birthday cake cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. EDT at the Pentagon Center Courtyard.

Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn III will speak at 4 p.m. EDT before the Conference of Defense Associations Institute at the Chateau Laurier, Ottawa, Canada.  He will speak about the US-Canada Defense Relationship in an Era of New Threats.  The point of contact is Arnav Manchanda at 613-236-9903.

Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen will accept the Work Life Legacy Award from the Families and Work Institute on behalf of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
