Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld hosts an honor cordon to welcome Israeli Minister of Finance Binyamin Netanyahu to the Pentagon at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 11 a.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.

Rumsfeld and director, Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance Jay Garner conduct a media availability at 2:45 pm. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room. Media representatives without a Pentagon building pass who are interested in attending this event must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification and be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance by 2:15 p.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine Gen. Peter Pace testify on global commitments/Iraq at a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee at 1 p.m. EDT in Rayburn House Office Building 2118.

Maj. Gen. Ray Odierno, commander of the U. S. Army's 4th Infantry Division, will conduct a videoteleconference briefing at 10 a.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. He will discuss the involvement of the 4th Infantry Division in the conflict and in postwar stabilization efforts. See press advisory for details.

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the Navy are scheduled to conduct Aegis ballistic missile defense Flight Mission-5 (FM-5) flight test today with a window from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT. FM-5 will involve the launch of a standard missile-3 (SM-3) interceptor from the Aegis ballistic missile defense cruiser USS Lake Erie against an Aries target launched from Pacific Missile Range Facility on Kauai, Hawaii. The Department of Defense announced today that Spc. Joseph D. Suell, 24, of Lufkin, Texas, was killed on June 16, in Todjie, Iraq.  Suell died from a non-combat related cause.
