Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will be traveling in Europe from Sunday, June 3, through Saturday, June 9. See the background briefing for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz speaks at the class of 2001 graduation at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., on Saturday, June 2. See the press advisory and the academy web page for details. [academy link no longer available]

The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing room, Pentagon 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

Joint Patriot '01, a combined inter-service reserve forces exercise, continues through June 30 at several military sites across the United States. See the news release for details.
