 Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta delivers remarks at 7 p.m. EDT at the National Press Club, where he will receive the Center on National Policy's 2012 Edmund S. Muskie Distinguished Public Service Award, in Washington, D.C. 

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter has no public or media events on his schedule. 

ASD (Research and Engineering) Zachary Lemnios will participate on a panel at 3:15 p.m. EDT at a Bloomberg Defense Conference on Defense Research and Development at The Newseum, Knight Broadcast Studio, 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington D.C. 

Press Secretary George E. Little will brief the media at 1 p.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973).  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.
