Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Army Gen. George W. Casey, commander of Multinational Force--Iraq, will conduct a DoD news briefing at 3:30 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579.  Media without a Pentagon building pass interested in covering this event must have proof of press affiliation and two forms of photo identification and should be at the North Parking Entrance by 2:45 p.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort to the briefing.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England will be keynote speaker at the annual National League of Families meeting at 9:15 a.m. EDT.  Following his remarks he helps to unveil the 2006 National POW/MIA Recognition Day poster.  Event will take place at the Admiralty Ballroom in the Hilton Crystal City Hotel.  Point of contact for this event is Mr. Larry Greer at (703) 901-3186.

DoD Identifies Army Casualties The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.   They died in the vicinity of Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries sustained on or about June 16.   Both soldiers were previously listed as Duty Status – Whereabouts Unknown....
