Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen is in Washington today. Secretary Cohen will honor the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Team at 10 a.m. today in the Pentagon auditorium, room 5A1070. See the news release for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

The regular Department of Defense news briefing will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today in the Pentagon briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Mr. Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

The Department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
