Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Henry H. Shelton appear before the House and Senate Armed Services Committee today on the fiscal year 2002 budget. See the Congressional schedule for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz will host an honor cordon today at 10:30 a.m. EDT to welcome Vice Minister of Defense Angel Tello, of the Argentine Republic, to the Pentagon. See the press advisory for details.

There will be no regular DoD news briefing today.

Joint Patriot '01, a combined inter-service reserve forces exercise, continues through June 30 at several military sites across the United States. See the news release for details.
