Secretary Leon E. Panetta will deliver remarks at the 5th annual Dean Acheson Lecture to discuss “The Practice of Partnership in the 21st Century” at 6:45 p.m. EDT at the U.S. Institute of Peace, 2301 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.  Journalists interested in attending must register and be in place no later than 5:45 p.m.  Point of contact: Allison Sturma, 202-429-4725.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter has no public or media events on his schedule.

Commander of Air Education and Training Command Air Force Gen. Edward Rice Jr. will brief the media regarding the comprehensive strategic review of the entire Air Force training community at 1 p.m. EDT, in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973).  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.
