Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

Joint Patriot '01, a combined inter-service reserve forces exercise, continues through June 30 at several military sites across the United States. See the news release for details.

The next regular Department of Defense news briefing will be conducted Tuesday, July 3, at 1:30 p.m. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.
