Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter Pace will conduct a media roundtable at 1:15 p.m. EDT, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
 
Secretary Gates hosts an honor cordon to welcome Latvia's Minister of Defense Atis Slakteris to the Pentagon today at 9:30 a.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon Mall Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 9 a.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.
