Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his calendar.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz hosts an honor cordon to welcome Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Askar Aitmatov to the Pentagon at 12:30 p.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than noon EDT for escort to the cordon.

The Department of Defense will conduct a video-teleconference background briefing on the topic of the Tuwaitha Nuclear Facility in Iraq. This briefing will be held at 10 a.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. Senior defense officials will discuss the the history and the security of that facility.
