Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta is travelling.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter has no public or media events on his schedule.

Under Secretary of the Navy Bob Work will present the Secretary of the Navy Environmental Awards at an 11 a.m. EDT ceremony at the Navy Memorial, Washington, D.C.

Under Secretary of the Navy Bob Work will deliver the keynote address at the 12th annual Navy Opportunity Forum at 12:50 p.m. EDT at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Crystal City, Va.

Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Lloyd Austin III provides remarks at the Combined Logistics Excellence Award Banquet and Ceremony at 6 p.m. EDT at the Washington Marriott Hotel, 1221 22nd St. NW, Washington, D.C.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Media Operations Capt. John Kirby will brief the media at 1 p.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973).  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.
