Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England have no public or media events on their schedules.

Vice Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Edmund Giambastiani  is the keynote speaker at 1 p.m. EDT at the Naval Submarine League Annual Symposium at the Hilton Alexandria at Mark Center in Alexandria, Va.  Point of contact for this event is Richard Osial, (703) 697-4272. 

Adm.Giambastiani will also be the speaker at 10 a.m. EDT at the National Defense University, Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the National War College graduation at Fort McNair, Washington, DC.


Gen. Michael Hagee, Commandant, U.S. Marine Corps briefs the Pentagon Press Corps on his recent trip to Iraq in the Press Briefing Room 2E579 at 1 p.m EDT.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.   Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
