Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz hosts an honor cordon to welcome Foreign Secretary of India Kanwal Sibal to the Pentagon at noon EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 11:30 a.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.

The Department of Defense will mark the 30th anniversary of the All-Volunteer Force with a reenlistment ceremony at the White House at 2 p.m. EDT. This event will feature 30 service members from active duty, Reserve, National Guard and Coast Guard taking the reenlistment oath to continue their service in the armed forces.
