Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld has no public or media events on his schedule

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England  and wounded military service members will throw out the first pitch at the Washington National's baseball game against the Chicago Cubs at 6:55 p.m. EDT at RFK Stadium.

Army Col. Michael Shields, commander of 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, will brief live from Iraq at 9 a.m. EDT  in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.   Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
