Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen is in Washington. Secretary Cohen is scheduled to testify on national missile defense at a hearing today before the Senate Committee on Armed Services. See the advisory for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is traveling in Europe through today. His schedule includes meetings with a variety of French and British government and business leaders.

Today's regular Department of Defense news briefing has been cancelled because Secretary Cohen is testifying on the Hill.

The first CV-22, the special operations-modified version of the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft, will be unveiled and rolled out today in Ft. Worth, Texas. See the advisory for details.

Joint Warrior Interoperability Demonstration 2000 continues through July 28. See the news release for details.

The Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services is visiting military commands and meeting with servicemembers in Italy, Spain, Germany, Jordan and Kosovo through July 29. See the news release for details.

Cornerstone 00-1, a combined engineering exercise with Moldova, continues through late August. See the news release for details.

SecDef Hosts Full Honor Arrival Ceremony for MoD of Slovakia Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host a full honors arrival ceremony to welcome Minister of Defense Pavol Kanis, of the Slovak Republic, to the Pentagon at 10 a.m. EDT, Wednesday, July 26, 2000.

The ceremony will be held on the River Parade Field of the Pentagon....
