Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England will deliver remarks at Vice Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Edmund P. Giambastiani's retirement ceremony at 10 a.m. EDT at the U.S. Naval Academy, 121 Blake Road, Annapolis, Md.  This event will be broadcast live on the Pentagon Channel.

Army Col. Stephen M. Twitty, commander of the 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division will brief live from Iraq at 9 a.m., July 27, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
