Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates is traveling.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England and Under Secretary of Defense Comptroller Tina Jonas testify on cost of military operations and reconstruction in Iraq and Afghanistan at a hearing of the House Budget Committee at 10 a.m. EDT in room 210 Cannon House Office Building.

Adm. Michael G. Mullen, USN and Gen. James E. Cartwright testify at a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee on their nominations at 9:30 a.m. in room SH-216 Hart Senate Office Building.

Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Readiness Paul W. Mayberry and Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment Philip W. Grone, will conduct a press availability in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. at the 2007 Sustaining Military Readiness Conference at 5:30 p.m., July 31.
