Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The next regular Department of Defense news briefing will be conducted today at 1:30 p.m. EDT in the DoD briefing room, Pentagon 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

The government of Ukraine and the Supreme Allied Commander, Atlantic are hosting an international Partnership for Peace symposium, titled "The World in the 21st Century: Cooperation, Partnership, and Dialogue," through tomorrow in Kyiv, Ukraine.
