Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England have no public or media events on their schedules.

Army Maj. Gen. Joseph J. Taluto, commander of Multinational Division North-Central, commander of Task Force Liberty and commander of the U.S. 42nd Infantry Division, will brief live from Iraq at 9 a.m. EDT, Aug. 26, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update of ongoing security operations in north-central Iraq. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard Myers will conduct a DoD news briefing on his recent visit with the troops overseas at 11:15 a.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579.
