Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta has no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn delivers remarks at the armed forces farewell tribute and retirement ceremony in honor of Gen. David H. Petraeus at 10 a.m. EDT at Summerall Field on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall.  Media interested in covering the event should contact U.S. Army Military District of Washington Public Affairs at 202-685-4645.  The event will be carried on the Pentagon Channel and streaming live at www.pentagonchannel.mil.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen delivers remarks at the dedication ceremony of the Pentagon USO Exhibit on the 3rd floor, 10.5 corridor, A-ring at 1 p.m. EDT.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call JCS Public Affairs at 703-571-9477 for escort into the building.
