Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will lay a wreath at the U.S. Navy Memorial to honor the victims of the Washington Navy Yard shooting. The wreath-laying will take place at 10 a.m. EDT today at the U.S. Navy Memorial, 701 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington D.C. Media pre-set is 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. EDT, and all equipment must be in place by 9 a.m. EDT for a mandatory security sweep. DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Staff Sgt. Randall R. Lane, 43, of Indianapolis, Ind., died Sept. 13, in Kabul, Afghanistan, from a non-combat related illness.
