Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates has no public or media event on his schedule.

Senior Procurement Executive and Director of Acquisition Management, Defense Logistics Agency, Ms. Nancy Heimbaugh and Commander, Air Force Global Logistics Support Center Major General Gary T. McCoy, USAF will testify at a House Armed Services Committee hearing on DoD Supply Chain Management at 9:30 a.m. at 2175 Rayburn, Washington, D.C.
 
Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Michèle A. Flournoy, Vice Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General James E. Cartwright, USMC and Director Missile Defense Agency Lieutenant General Patrick J. O’Reilly, USA will testify at a Committee of Armed Services hearing on the President’s decision on missile defense in Europe at 10 a.m. at 106 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
 
Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Personnel Oversight Lynn Heirakuji will testify at a House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs hearing on “Honoring the Fallen” at 10 a.m. at 334 Cannon House Office Building, Washington, D.C.

Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition Technology and Logistics Ashton Carter and Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley will conduct a briefing on the upcoming draft request for proposal for the KC-X tanker recapitalization program at 4 p.m. EDT, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E973.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
