Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld participates in a press conference following NATO Defense Ministers informal meetings at 7:10 EDT, at Hotel St. Bernardin in Portoro, Slovenia.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense Paul McHale delivers remarks to the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law and National Security at 8 a.m. EDT at the University Club, 1135 16th St. Washington, D.C.

Army Col. Sean B. MacFarland, commander of 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, will brief live from Iraq at 9 a.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
