Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England have no public or media events on their schedules.


Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Detainee Affairs Cully Stimson and Army Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence Lt. Gen. John Kimmons will conduct a news briefing at 11:30 a.m. EDT, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579. They will introduce Department of Defense Directive 2310.01E (Department of Defense Detainee Program) and Army Field Manual 2-22.3 (Human Intelligence Collector Operations). Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
