Secretary Cohen's Remarks at the Turkish General Staff, Ankara, Turkey

Cohen: (off mike) proposed the meeting that we've just had. We spoke on some of the issues. He has articulated a policy that is, quite frankly, our policy--of our government also. And that is, to make economic growth all of our growth, whether it is political, military security, political security or economic security, they go hand in hand. And one without any of the others—it is impossible to have a real success for one growing country. So we are appreciative, Mr. Minister, of your spending time with us, and of the leadership that you provided, not only in Turkey, but in the entire region, in the world. Thank you very much.
