Jonathan Broderick

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Senate Affairs

 

Jon Broderick serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Senate Affairs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. In this role, he provides leadership and guidance on the Department’s initiatives and interaction with the U.S. Senate.

Prior to this, Mr. Broderick served in the United States Army as an Infantry officer and deployed to Afghanistan as a Platoon Leader with the 82nd Airborne Division. He later commanded a mechanized Infantry company with the 1st Cavalry Division. Following his operational experience, Mr. Broderick worked in the U.S. Senate as a Defense Fellow, and served in various legislative roles with the U.S. Army, advising senior leaders on legislative strategy.

Mr. Broderick has earned a Master’s degree in Professional Studies from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s in International Relations from Boston University. Jon lives in Maryland with his wife Sarah who is an Army officer, and their two sons.
