The Defense Logistics Agency welcomes Army Command Sgt. Maj. Tomeka N. O’Neal as the agency’s new senior enlisted leader. She replaces Navy Command Master Chief Shaun Brahmstead, who arrived in July 2017 and retired Aug. 11.

O’Neal served as the Defense Commissary Agency’s senior enlisted advisor since November 2018. She represented commissary customers by raising their questions and concerns and increased awareness of commissary benefits, according to a DECA news story

The 30-year veteran joined the Army in 1990 as a parachute rigger and reclassified as an automated logistical specialist in 1998. She became a command sergeant major in 2007 and has held the top enlisted spot in units including the Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Command, Mission and Installation Contracting Command, 1st Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade and the 44th Medical Command.

Her other assignments include five months in 2002 as a special operations liaison with the Joint Logistics Command in Karshi Khanabad, Uzbekistan; first sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Special Operations Support Command from 2004 to 2006; and special staff of the U.S. Army Special Warfare Center and School in 2006.

O’Neal has a master’s degree in business administration from Trident University International and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Campbell University. She is also a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
