Mechanics, PS Magazine published an article back in February 2009 (Pages 36-38 of PS 675) about the challenges of removing the searchlight underneath the nose of the AH-64D due to the delicate nature of the equipment if mishandled. To help protect the searchlight, a user provided the specifications to make a searchlight stand to take pressure off the wires when it came time to change the searchlight. Click HERE to view a PDF of that article.

Note that the searchlight stand is not sourced by Apache PM. However, they have no objection with units building the stand to help them effectively remove and reinstall the searchlight or the entire assembly.
