It only takes a few simple steps to make sure your vote is counted. The Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) enables you to register to vote and request your absentee ballot.

Your Vote is Safe:

  1. Whether you vote in person or by mail, state and local governments and election offices take steps to make sure your vote is counted correctly and only those eligible are allowed to vote.
  2. Equipment is tested regularly, and on Election Day votes are counted correctly and transported securely. States also partner with federal authorities to protect against interference.
  3. Election officials keep detailed records of the numbers and location of ballots to make sure they are not manipulated and can be audited to check for irregularities.
  4. Security measures for mail voting include signature matching, information checks, barcodes, watermarks and precise paper weights. If a voter attempts more than one vote, only one ballot is counted.
