Iraqi women prepare to participate in a practice shoot using AK-47 rifles on a range in Fallujah, Iraq, April 29, 2008. The women are part of a group that is training to join "Sisters of Fallujah," a security force comprised of local women that help maintain security in their neighborhoods. To rebalance the shift in coalition manpower and further transition the role of security from coalition forces to Iraqi Police, the 5th Marine Regiment's 3rd Battalion started the Sisters of Fallujah so that Iraqi women could assist in security operations to search other Iraqi women entering the city through entry control points.
