Miranda and the artillerymen from the 101st Airborne Division's 2nd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment have been conducting "Operation Balls DiMaggio" since June 18. The operation aims to stop weapons trafficking, capture munitions financiers and limit insurgent activity around Joint Base Balad Anaconda. The battalion conducts 24-hour combat patrols in an effort to provide lasting peace in the area. Miranda is the acting platoon sergeant.
