U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Daniel Mallory secures the rear of an amphibious assault vehicle as Lance Cpl. Mallory and Pursley are assigned to 1st platoon, Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Amphibious Assault Vehicle platoon transported and supported infantry Marines throughout mountainous environment. The 24th MEU Marines performed a series of sustainment and joint exercises alongside the French military servicemembers while in Djibouti.
