Skull Infrascanner Navy Chief Petty Officer Jared Anderson, a hospital corpsman, uses an Infrascanner to assess Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Maceo Mathis for intracranial hematomas -- bleeding within the skull -- at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., May 8, 2017. The scanner is a portable, medical diagnostic device that provides early detection of intracranial hematomas in the field, potentially saving lives and improving casualty care and recovery. Infrascanners are available for medical personnel for use at battalion aid stations across the Marine Corps.
