HOWITZER HOWL As seen through a night-viewing device, a U.S. Army ‘gun team’ fires a 105mm howitzer during Operation Balls Jackson I, Ad Dujayl, Iraq, Oct. 9, 2008. The artillery soldiers, assigned to 2nd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, fired an artillery barrage to deny enemy extraction routes for an air assault operation 10 kilometers away.
