SOND CHARA SUNSET British Royal Marine Commandos take part in Operation Sond Chara, the clearance of Nad-e Ali District of Helmand province in southern Afghanistan by Afghan National Security Forces and troops deployed with the International Security Assistance Force 42-Commando, Dec. 29, 2008. The operation's goal was to bring stabilzation to the district, increase security for Lashkar Gah and set safe conditions for voter registration later this year.
