Jacoby is the commanding general of Multinational Corps Iraq. De La Rosa, injured in a blast from an improvised explosive device during a combat operation May 17, is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division's Troop B, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
