CIVIL WAR SOLDIER Antietam National Battlefield National Park Service rangers carry a coffin containing the remains of an unknown Civil War soldier found on the Antietam National Battlefield during a ceremony Sept. 15, 2009. The soldier was believed to be between 17 and 19 years old, based on forensic analysis, when he was killed during the Civil War's single bloodiest day.
