PROUD VETERANS Veterans of the 141st Infantry Regiment and the 442nd Regimental Combat Team are recognized at the 65th anniversary of the rescue of the "Lost Battalion" in Houston, Nov. 1, 2009. The 442nd, a segregated unit comprised of mostly Japanese Americans, rescued 230 men and lost more than 800 men during the battle. The unit became the most decorated in U.S. military history, earning the nickname: the "Purple Heart Battalion."
