FIRST-TIMER U.S Navy Chief Petty Officer Brandon Parry plates his main entree during the American Culinary Federation's Chef of the Year competition in Anaheim, Calif., Aug. 5, 2010. Parry is a culinary specialist assigned to the Commander of Naval Air Forces in San Diego. He is the first active-duty sailor to compete in the highly selective event.
