Air Force Staff Sgt. escorts British personnel at Prince Sultan Air Base. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Darryl Martin, a Passenger Representative with the 615 Aerial Port Squadron, escorts British communications personnel from a British C-130 on the ramp to the receiving area at Prince Sultan Air Base, Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, on Aug. 16, 1996. The communications team, deployed from Tactical Communications Wing, RAF Brize Norton, United Kingdom, will set up ground communications for British personnel that will soon be arriving to support the move of RAF Tornadoes conducting Operation Southern Watch to Al Kharj. Personnel, aircraft, and equipment are being moved from bases in Dhahran and Riyadh to the remote desert air base to reduce their vulnerability to terrorist attack. Southern Watch is the coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq. Martin is deployed from Travis Air Force Base, Calif.
