U.S. Air Force Civil Engineers build a tent city at a Jordanian Air Base. Engineers from the U.S. Air Force 9th Civil Engineering Squadron use a backhoe to dig a ditch for a lift station on a Jordanian Air Base on April 4, 1996. Engineering squadrons are building a small tent city to support a U.S. Air Force Air Power Expeditionary Force which will operate out of Jordan. The Expeditionary Force will provide additional land-based air forces to augment regional assets. The deployment will also give the Air Force an opportunity to work and train with coalition partners in the region. The deployment should be completed near the end of June 1996.
