Crew members from the capsized ocean tug Gulf Majesty (wearing orange vests), exit a SH-60 Seahawk helicopter on the flight deck of the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) after being rescued at sea on Sept. 15, 1999. Eight crew members were rescued after abandoning their ship in heavy seas off the coast of Florida during Hurricane Floyd. The USS John F. Kennedy responded to their distress call some 150 miles from the tugs reported location. The aircraft carrier had been at sea less than a day after leaving the ship's home port of Mayport, Fla., to ride out Hurricane Floyd. The Seahawk is deployed to the carrier from Helicopter Support Squadron 11, Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla.
