Over 50 bags of hashish are piled on the deck of a dhow intercepted in the Persian Gulf by a U.S. Navy boarding team from the USS Decatur (DDG 73) on Dec. 16, 2003. The team discovered an estimated two tons of narcotics with a street value of around eight to ten million dollars aboard the dhow. The dhow's 12 crewmembers were taken into custody and transferred to USS Decatur, while Decatur sailors took control of the craft and its cargo.
